From the Chair-designate and Chief Executive-designate, Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Integrated Care Board
I am delighted to have been appointed as Independent Chair Designate for the new Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Integrated Care Board. I already know that we will be building from a strong base, with all partners committed to working together to improve the health and wellbeing of our local people throughout their lives. We have a rare opportunity to develop health and care together, tackling health inequalities and improving the health and wellbeing of almost a million local people. Our long-term strategy puts our local people and communities at the heart of everything we do.
As a Non-Executive Member of the board, and / or Chair of one our committees, you will join a talented, motivated and optimistic partnership. We are not naïve about the challenges ahead, but we have the determination and collaboration needed to address and overcome them. It's an exciting and deeply rewarding role, and I look forward to meeting candidates who see, as we do, the chance to be in at the beginning of a stronger, healthier future for the people of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
John O’Brien, Chair-designate, Cambridgeshire & Peterborough ICB
I am privileged to be appointed as the first CEO-designate of Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Integrated Care Board. We have the opportunity to bring health and care closer together than ever before, creating a more inclusive working environment and reducing health inequalities. While the Covid-19 pandemic continues to challenge us all, we are nevertheless keeping our eyes fixed firmly on the objective of delivering better care across one of the largest and most ambitious Integrated Care System areas in the country. We recognise that only system-wide step change will allow us to respond to shared challenges across health and care, but also beyond; and all partners have made a firm commitment to delivering the change that's needed.
The prospect of welcoming a world-class Chief People Officer to my team is hugely exciting. Working alongside me and the other executive leaders, we will together achieve the remarkable potential of our Integrated Care System – one in which each of those three words is fully realised. It’s likely to be the most stimulating and rewarding role of your career to date, and one in which you will make a material contribution to building a better future for hundreds of thousands of people. I look forward very much to meeting you.
Jan Thomas, Chief Executive-designate, Cambridgeshire & Peterborough ICB
